How Can CBD Help My Medical Condition?

The medical marijuana program is forming in Mississippi. This process can be slow with ever changing legislation so we want to do some educating in the meantime so you are certain that you want to get your medical marijuana card with us!

Last week we reviewed what CBD is and how it works in the body, today we will be getting into how CBD can help your medical condition!

CBD Can Help Relieve Anxiety

According to the Anxiety and Depression Association of America, over 40 million people over 18 in the U.S. have anxiety and with the pandemic, this number is increasing every day. Anxiety is the number one condition that people seek out CBD treatment for. Thankfully there is a lot of research on how CBD aids anxiety!

Previously, CBD research has been in the preclinical stages or been performed using animal testing. Today, we are seeing a major shift with more research using human subjects in clinical trials. Even though there is a lot of anecdotal evidence showing CBD helps anxiety, it is always nice to have it back by research as well!

One study used 37 teenage participants that were diagnosed with social anxiety disorder (SAD). The first group was given CBD oil daily for four week and the second group was given a placebo. After the four weeks were completed, the results showed that those who took the CBD oil treatment saw a significant reduction in their SAD symptoms. This study also revealed that CBD oil treated SAD symptoms comparable to the traditional prescription medication that is typically used to treat SAD!

Another study looked at 47 anxiety patients in a mental health facility in Colorado. These patients were given CBD treatment daily for three months. The results showed that within the first month alone 79.2% of patients saw a significant improvement in their anxiety symptoms!

CBD Can Help You Manage Your Pain

The number one condition that people turn to medical marijuana for is chronic pain. This is not only because there are so many people dealing with this condition but because medical marijuana actually works!

Harvard Medical School led a comprehensive review of 28 research studies that looked at the effectiveness of marijuana on the treatment of pain. This review concluded that marijuana is in fact an effective treatment for pain and is supported by high quality research. This review showed that symptoms of chronic pain and neuropathic pain were both significantly improved with medical marijuana treatment!

Another exciting study revealed that medical marijuana treatment improved quality of life as well as decreased opioid use by 64% for those suffering from chronic pain.

CBD treatment has made profound impacts for those with chronic pain because CBD is a natural anti-inflammatory and pain reliever!

CBD Can Help You Get a Good Night’s Sleep

Everyone knows how important a good night’s sleep is. If you can’t sleep, you can’t heal which is why sleep is so important when you have a medical condition.

The dosage of CBD is actually what is key in CBD being able to help you sleep or not. A study showed that those who took a higher dose of CBD slept for longer durations than those who took smaller doses.

CBD also helps with sleep because it helps with what is keeping you up at night. If you are tossing and turning because you are experiencing chronic pain or you have PTSD with nightmares, CBD can help aid those conditions first which in turn will help you sleep better!

Takeaway. . .

Right now in Mississippi, you can only legally purchase hemp derived CBD. Even though cannabis derived CBD is more effective, since there is no medical marijuana program in place, it is illegal in the state.

However, you can reserve an appointment with us today so you can get your medical marijuana once the program is fully functioning!

You deserve relief. Don’t wait another day!
