Is Medical Marijuana Legal in Mississippi?
Yes, medical marijuana is finally legal in the State of Mississippi! On February 2, 2022, Mississippi's Governor signed legislation legalizing medical cannabis, called the Mississippi Medical Cannabis Act. The law went into effect immediately, but we are still waiting for dispensaries to open up their doors. Dispensary sales are expected to begin in January of 2023.

How to Qualify for a Medical Marijuana Card in Mississippi
Once medical marijuana is legalized in Mississippi, you must fulfill the following:

Be at least 18 years of age or older

Patients under 18 years of age must have parental consent

Have a current diagnosis of a debilitating medical condition (see list below)

Hold a written certification from a doctor

Be a Mississippi resident with proof of residency (valid Mississippi driver's license or state ID card)

Not hold a school bus permit or Commercial Driver's License (CDL)

Not be an active duty law enforcement officer, correctional officer, correctional probation officer, or firefighter.
What Conditions Are Approved for Medical Marijuana Treatment in Mississippi?
The new constitutional amendment in Mississippi states that having a diagnosis of the following conditions will qualify patients in the state for access to medical marijuana. Assuming everything goes well with the officials, marijuana could be ready for sale as soon as Fall or Winter of 2021.
